DESIGN INDIA COLLECTIVE
Design India Collective is a unique venture by passionate educators and students of Art & Design across the country.
Experience is the most important step for the knowledge to get imbibed in a student’s personality. With this realisation we are making a sincere and a humble effort to fill the gap between the information received by a child from various sources and the real experience of it. We, through DIC, intend to create future designers and leaders who, through their ethical and socially responsible approach to design, make the world stronger and hence a better place to live.
This venture is a brain child of passionate educators who are alumnus of prestigious institutes like Sir J. J. School of Art, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, IIT Bombay and so on.
Mr. Nitin Agrawal who spearheads the venture also received a scholarship to study in France where his core subjects were Conceptual Art and Art History. A passionate educationist, he has over twenty years of experience in teaching Art & Design, out of which he has been involved with mainstream schooling since last fifteen years practically teaching every board and preparing students for professional courses in various disciplines of Visual Arts. He has a special liking for woodworking and along with this venture he also works as a consultant for school art departments.
DIC is proud of its record 100% college placement every single year.
Our alumni, who are spread across the country, always come back to share their valuable experiences with our present batches.
TESTIMONIALS
Mrs Farida Shaikh
Nitin sir had been my daughter’s school art teacher and had guided her from very early days. He played a huge role in my daughter’s love for art and helped enhance her passion for the field with constant support and encouragement. I recently reached out to him to help her with her portfolio which she required for university as we wished to meet some specific requirements for the niche she wished to choose. Nitin Sir, with his wide range of skills and knowledge about different forms of Art was of great help in meeting these requirements. He has been a commendable teacher with a brilliant work ethic and admirable methods of teaching, allowing the kids to shine in their own light. He is not only immensely talented but also extremely well versed and experienced in his field. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with any creative inclinations.

I applied to design colleges in the United States in the year 2016. Apart from academics a large part of the application consists of a self-created art portfolio that explores a variety of mediums. I worked with Nitin Sir early in the process to guide me through creating my portfolio. While we conceptualized and created meaningful art pieces, he also encouraged me to travel to different Indian cities in order to inculcate a varied range of art practices within process. Apart from traditional mediums of charcoal and paint, we explored Rock Dokra, photography, assemblage art as well as digital design. He pushed me to think big and go beyond regular materials and mediums— an aspect that is widely appreciated by application viewers. Not only was he soft spoken and open to my understanding my ideas and views, he helped me strengthen them instead of telling me what had to be done. Nitin Sir was a guide and mentor through out my journey that got me multiple college acceptances with merit scholarships. Finally, I decided to enroll at Parsons School of Design in New York City.

It’s is privilege to be part of this community as loads can be learned not only from the teachers, but also from the batch mates. Each students has a story, specialties, spark and vision. I have known Mr Nitin for many years now. He taught my daughter art in high school and later mentored her for some special portfolio projects. He is passionate and knowledgeable about art and very thorough. He is a great teacher who builds a strong rapport with his students. In addition to my experience as a parent, as an admissions counsellor, I have also referred students to him for portfolio and design work, and they are all very happy with the outcomes.
